Nico Fuentes, Analog photographic processes, found images, and objects explore the intricacies of queer domestics as an overlooked site of transformation, power, and joy. Rural queer life is investigated through relishing and teasing out the tension between mother lover and mother/lover in the home. Visual cadence and rhythm mirror the embodiment of feminine domestic intimacy as a site of trauma, safety, and revolution. Sinister and sacred rituals of quotidian care are imagined and interpreted through dreamy and mundane pairings.
